Why aren't we suppose to 'kill the ego' but learn to transform it?
Without ego, a newborn soul is like a lamb thrown in a wood surrounded by wolfs.
The ego is indeed the primal desire to stay alive, the force which guards the self like a mighty lion.
However, overtime the ego often become 'our master' and prevents the revelation of The Light within, that it was assigned to boost and protect.
Then, all our lives, become a battlefield for the person to reclaim and express its true nature, one that is kind, sharing and most importantly connected to everyone and everything:
One Soul, One Love, One Light.
