Cooked, pickled or raw BEETS have amazing health benefits and have been consumed (leaves and roots) since Prehistoric times. Although, extremely sweet, they can be incorporated into a weekly diet.
High in immune-boosting vitamin C, fiber and essential minerals like potassium,(essential for healthy nerves and muscles functions) and manganese (which is good for bones, liver, kidneys and pancreas) beets are known to help lower blood pressure, boost stamina, fight inflammations and often prescribed to people suffering of anemia.
On an other, more lighter hand, the water obtained by boiling beets, makes an excellent capillary lotion to fight dandruff and hair lost.
As taught by The Bible, eating beets (which in Hebrew is called selek or 'to remove'), on the two nights of the Hebraic New Year, protects against 'the attacks of enemies'.
Moreover, it won't come has a surprise that many studies have shown today that drinking beets's juice helps in the fight against cancer.
